What is your coach teaching the kids? Are you as parents focusing on the right things during games? And if you have a coach who really understands the game at a deeper level and how to teach it, then show your support during games and conversations between parents by focusing on what’s important.

Sadly, most coaches disagree. They’ll let someone else, later, do that for the kids, because this coach has games to win and a career to build and that career is built on winning. The lamest thing is these coaches don’t really coach their teams to park the bus, which would greatly enhance their counterattacking chops. Maybe the coaches realize that would be too over-the-top negative, but I suspect these coaches can’t really teach their own players how to defend properly anyway.
