I thought “good” soccer players passed the ball. You know, move the ball from your feet to your team mates feet, thru the act of kicking the ball in their direction! 🙂
I’m always torn when watching these sorts of kids, who show very good individual soccer skills, but arent shown for their ability to pass, move into space, receive the ball, etc. Watch any top level game and count how many touches on the ball each player gets before they intiate a pass – its 2-3 most of the time. Watch for how many times they are in a 1v1 situation where anything more than basic moves are used to get past the opposing player.
Granted this video was showing individual skill, but i only counted 2 passes to teammates in about 15 clips.
It’ll be interesting to see where his career goes…so far so good.
